Why ith did they increase price of Premarin?
Wyeth recently increased the price of Premarin in Canada. An 800% price hike from 14 cents a pill to $1.25 a pill is sure a kick in the head. Are all those pregnant horses are getting paid more to pee? Not likely. So why?
Dropping share price? Dropping sales? Some sites quote Wyeth reps as saying they have been selling at a loss and can no longer afford to. So sell to the rich, forget the poor?
And what about those women who already use it and cannot afford the new price? In a too bad so sad response, Wyeth has told them to look for something cheaper. However there are no approved generic equivalents of Premarin (although there are some products out there claiming to be) which means for these women, they will need to seek alternative.
All up that could be seen as a good thing?
