Sex no longer selling … in Manhattan?
According to Dr. Patricia Yarberry Allen, the closing of the Manhattan branch of the UK Myla sex store chain should have made the headlines.
Why? Was there a scandal of some sort? Was someone fiddling with its books? Selling Spanx from under the counter? Apparently not. Just another store on the edge that did not survive the downturn. But since there are still dozens of sex stores in Manhattan, who really cares?
Dr. Allen cares. She thinks that “The loss of sexual interest among menopausal women has clearly become no longer newsworthy. ” Sorry? A sex store closes and this has something to do with … menopause?
Seems that the recession has put strain on relationships. And those disinterested menopausal women who before would have rubbed a bit of estrogen on their vaginas and reached for their English vibrators and sex shop lingerie now can’t be bothered. Apparently these hussies are now using menopause instead of a headache as an excuse to say not tonight or as she put it ”I am in menopause, honey, and I am done.”.
And that apparently is a bad thing. Because “nothing makes a woman matronly quicker than giving up sex.” So regardless of how you feel about him, just close your eyes and think of England because Myla has closed down and it’s too late to buy that tasteful non-purple single prong vibrator and do it yourself.
