Menopause, death and taxes money
The news is out that the Spanish woman who gave birth to twins at 66 by “reversing menopause” has died at 69 possibly from stomach cancer. Given her mother died at 101, she naturally had high expectations of a long life and certainly still being around when her children left home. But she was wrong about that.
Mothers can die at any time. And the age of the children left behind can be anything from 0 to 80. The children survive. And in her case, there is plenty of her family to take care of her twins. Not to mention the children’s true parents …
We tend to forget that these are not her biological children. She only carried someone else’s fetuses in her womb. These boys still have a mother out there somewhere. Just like there is a father out there somewhere too. And while many would like to question her moral judgement, no-one is questioning theirs let alone that of the doctors.
