Australia Encourages Women To Take Action To Manage Menopause symptoms

The Australian Government seems to be taking a somewhat difference and possibly enlightened stance in HRT recommendations compared to Canada or the US.  According to the Government Monitor, for women who decide to use a medicine to manage menopause symptoms, the National Prescribing Service  has determined that Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) is the most effective treatment.  However, NPS clinical adviser, Judith Mackson said, “The decision to use HRT should be made jointly between the woman and her doctor, and should take into consideration the severity of symptoms, the individual’s medical history, their family medical history and preference of treatment methods.
