Male Menopause … obviously not for every man

By Hot Flash

Not all women experience the (same) symptoms of menopause but we all go thru it. Obvious evidence being the cessation of periods.

To now claim that the male equivalent exists and then say not all men will go thru it simply because not all men experience the (same) symptoms does not sound like a statement based on fact.  More research needs to be done to establish that one. It could well be that all men do go thru “it” just that their symptoms vary.  It certainly make sense to assume so.

But I hear men asking why would they go thru it?  They don’t give birth but they sure can still make a baby long past their female counterparts (wink, wink, nudge, nudge).

So what would be the point of a male menopause?  Anthropologists like to roll out the grandmother theory to explain menopause. We stop making babies so we can help our daughters look after theirs. So why not a  “grandfather” theory? Perhaps testosterone dips so the “grandfather” does not challenge the “father” in his (superior) male role?
